About Me
Dr. STACEY LLOYD
Stacey Lloyd was born in Newark, New Jersey during a time when crime was at an all-time high. At the tender age of 12, living in an environment that offered little hope, Stacey believed she would become a person who would be involved in bettering the lives of others. One by one, she seized opportunities always operating with deliberate intent and purpose in mind.
Stacey went from graduating from Malcolm X Shabazz High School in to obtaining her Ph.D., in Philosophy from Carolina University, (formally, Piedmont International University) and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
Her research focused on Emotional Intelligence, Law Enforcement, and Leadership. In addition to holding multiple degrees, Stacey is also an IPEC (Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching) certified Life Coach. IPEC is the standard bearer for Life Coach certification. Despite her full schedule, Stacey serves as an adjunct professor at Howard University where she teaches Race, Gender, Class in the Criminal Justice System and Juvenile Justice. She retired from the New Jersey State Police as a Captain and is the newly appointed Chief of the University of Massachusetts. She also serves as the Sergeant-at-Arms for NOBLE and the President of the National Black Trooper Associations both are New Jersey Chapters.
Emotional Intelligence Vs Intelligence Quotient
IQ is known as “Intelligence Quotient” and it’s a measure of a person’s relative intelligence. Emotional Quotient, also known as EQ, is the ability to identify and manage your emotions and the emotions of others.
IQ is used to determine academic abilities and identify individuals with off the chart intelligence and mental challenges.
EQ is a better indicator of success in the workplace and is used to identify leaders, good team players, and people who best work by themselves.
Purpose
The purpose of my research and this training is to explain the correlation between EI and leadership among New Jersey Law Enforcement officers and to expand this training to workers in high stress occupations.
Additionally, the purpose is to examine the degree to which EI influences the decisions made by police officers and other high stress occupations and to provide techniques to decrease stress and increase emotional intelligence.
Finally the purpose is provide techniques to improve health and wellness for individuals in high stress occupations.

I Can Do It
Paperback – January 21, 2017
This is a story about faith, miracles, triumphs, and discipline. It represents one woman’s journey as she walks confidently into her divinely appointed purpose. This could have been a tragic tale had she succumbed to the voices that told her she was destined to live a mediocre life personified by all the woes of inner city living. Beginning with her premature birth, the odds were stacked against her and would have been insurmountable for many. A broken home, abuse, poverty, homelessness, single parenthood, toxic thinking, and an inadequate education threatened to derail her throughout her life; but she prevailed against the odds. Barriers she encountered that should have dissuaded her from trying served to strengthen her faith, reveal her worth, and define her purpose.

The Officer's Pathway to Emotional Intelligence Hardcover – Large Print, March 6, 2024
We celebrate this milestone; however, we recognize that, as authors, we are responsible for providing readers with essential, up-to-date factual material, policy trends, and changes in law enforcement practices, leadership, emotional intelligence, and mental health. For law enforcement practitioners, Emotional Intelligence (EI) refers to the capacity to effectively and efficiently perceive and process emotions. Emotional Intelligence (EI), by definition, is the ability to motivate and endue oneself despite frustration; to control impulses and postpone satisfaction; to manage feelings and keep trouble from overwhelming the ability to think; to emphasize and to hope—the ability to manage EI abilities with the mindset, personality, and temperament. EI merges two of three mental cognition and the effects of intelligence and emotion.

Chris J’s Magnificent Mind
Dr. STACEY LLOYD – 2024
Chris J’s Magnificent Mind and “Bullied for My Beauty! Beautiful Colors” by Stacey Lloyd, Ph.D., is a compilation of short stories depicting the many experiences and obstacles encountered by children who have endured emotional feelings such as frustration, anger, disappointment, and bullying due to gender identity, spent time in foster care, are multiracial, and are autistic. The narratives examine self-acceptance, social pressure, and the significance of communal support. It is a narrative about enduring bullying at school, the emotional impact of being moved between homes, gender identity, and the experience of biracial students striving for belonging, and the autistic child who celebrates his individuality and discovers acceptance. These narratives provide significant insights into resilience, personal development, and the strength of the community in surmounting various adversities.
